Our emotions can run a little higher than usual around the time when the moon is full. This is a great time for spiritual practices such as meditation. This full moon invites us to dream and open ourselves to opportunities and second chances. Have you noticed emotional issues from the past are coming up again? This full moon may offer you the chance to deal with them again.
A full moon offers the perfect time to release by throwing out the old and making space for the new, for transformation, and growth. Join us to release with breath, sound and fire in this full moon ritual and sound healing. Snuggle under your blanket, surrender into relaxation and travel deep within soothed by the gentle dreamy sound scape.
About this experience:
Upon arrival we'll settle into the space by connecting to ourselves with a short, simple breathing exercise. We'll then release with a second stronger breath technique. Following our breathing exercises, there'll be an invitation to write down (in private) on a piece of paper anything that would be best to let go of, the things that are holding us back that no longer are in service to our highest evolution. We will be placing these writings into a pot at the end of the evening so they may be burned into ashes before being returned to the soil. We then snuggle down with bolsters, blankets and eye pillows to be guided into a deeply restorative meditative sound journey by a variety of soothing instruments. The invitation here is to allow ourselves to surrender into a trance-like, deep state of relaxation.
About your Facilitator: Romy Paltoglou - @soulsoundsmassage
Romy is a Sound Massage Practitioner and Sound Bath Facilitator trained by the Peter Hess Institute. She creates immersive sound experiences, with frequencies that relate to nature and the human body, to soothe and calm the nervous system. Her Sound Baths curate sound in a therapeutic way. The instruments she plays are therapeutic grade, certified by the Peter Hess Institute.* The sounds they create are pure and clear and create a deeply relaxing environment leading one into a deeply relaxed state where re-connection to self can occur.
The intention of Romy's sound work is to provide time and space for stillness and silence allowing brain waves to slow down and the parasympathetic nervous system to activate. When the body and mind are at rest, healing may occur.
Romy also offers one-on-one "Sound Massage" treatments. This incredible methodology was created by Peter Hess in the 1980's and has been researched and refined over the last 40 plus years. It is like a complete body and mind presence with yourself (physical & mental “pause"). You can feel your body heavy but at the same time like you are floating. His Institute is in Germany.
Things to note:
Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. Wear comfortable, lose clothes. An eyemask and journal is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).
Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 7:00pm - 7:15pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 7:30pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.
Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).
Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).
Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.
Finding Centre of You: Centre of You is nestled within the arcade that Chapel St Bazaar is in (217 Chapel St). It is up a flight of stairs with a wide landing at the half-way-point. Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair accessible lift. If you could use support in getting up the stairs or would like to discuss ways to make your experience at Centre of You more comfortable, please reach out via grace@centreofyou.com.au or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.
