Energy In Motion: An Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Journey
Welcome to Energy In Motion, a transformational event where ecstatic dance, cacao, and emotional release come together to create an unforgettable experience. This is more than an event; it's a journey of self-discovery and expression, offering a blend of personal growth, community connection, and joyful celebration.
Emotion is energy in motion, and this experience is designed to support emotional processing with an undercurrent of bliss. It's about inner exploration and embodied expression, all within a vibrant, party-like atmosphere. Personal development can be fun, and we're here to prove it.
May Event: Crown Chakra
Remember your divinity and connection to oneness by joining us this May as we explore the Crown Chakra.
The crown chakra, also known as the sahasrara, is all about spiritual connection. Associated with the element of thought, it’s linked to wisdom, unity, and universal consciousness.
Throughout the evening, we’ll connect with the crown chakra by connecting to the cosmos.
This event is an opportunity to dance and an invitation to transform through beauty, play, and the pleasure of being fully present in your body.
Experience Highlights
Ecstatic Dance: A space for free expression. Let go of inhibition and move to the rhythm. No dance experience needed, just an open heart.
Cacao Ceremony: Connect with this heart-opening plant medicine, traditionally known as "food of the Gods." The ceremony invites emotional clarity and deeper connection to self while fueling your desire to dance.
Chakra Exploration: Each event focuses on one of the seven chakras. From the root to the crown, we journey through these energetic centers, integrating their wisdom and embracing their power.
Community Guidelines
Be present: No phones
Be clear: No intoxicants
Be embodied: No talking during the dance
Be respectful: Consensual contact only
Join us at Energy In Motion for a transformative experience where you can dance, connect, and evolve with a community of kindred spirits.
Together, let’s celebrate the full spectrum of the human experience and transform through the power of movement, music, and shared energy.
Join Us for a 7-Month Experience (Optional)
This event is part of a chakra journey series running over seven months. Each gathering is dedicated to one of the body's energy centers, inviting a deeper exploration of its qualities.
Whether you're coming to one event or joining the full journey, each experience is designed to activate and embody the energy of a specific chakra. And if you're just keen to dance, sip cacao, and be with community, you're just as welcome.
We’ll be joined by some of Melbourne’s finest ecstatic dance DJs and guest facilitators. While each event stands alone, there’s also a special all-access pass if you feel called to join the full series.

About your hosts:
Co-Host: Patty McDonald - @ pattymac.truth
Patty is passionate about helping people open their hearts and find bliss in the full spectrum of the human experience. Chakaruna means "Bridge Person" in the Quechua language - this journey is here to provide a bridge for you into new ways of connecting with your self, with each other and with the world around you.
An experienced leader and coach, he recently doubled down on music as an even purer vehicle to deliver transformation, and spent a few weeks in Guatemala dancing with and learning from some of the world's best organic music producers such as Mose, Scott Nice, ATYYA and Melbourne's own Temple Step Project. He also was humbled to learn about Cacao plant magic whilst in Guatemala and is honoured to be holding a space for Cacao and Ecstatic Dance to be shared with our community.
Host: Shahna Sarpi - @shahnasarpi
It was love at first dance, when Shahna stepped onto an ecstatic dance dance-floor. She saw the immense power in embodied movement and authentic expression, coming home to hear body and her self and feeling the liberation that comes from allowing the energy to move through her. Since that time, she has interwoven these lessons and practices into what she does personally, but also professionally.
Now, as a Somatic Healing Expert, Shahna uses embodiment practices, somatic exercises and other healing tools and modalities to help people step into their era of freedom, fullest self expression and radiance.
Guest DJ: Kundalini Project - @kundaliniproject
Each month we welcome a guest DJ to guide a journey through movement and music. This May, we're joined by Kundalini Project – a powerful artist whose genre-blending sound fuses tribal, psy-trance, world music, techno, and live instruments into a deeply primal and ethereal experience.
With flowing textures, rolling basslines, and staccato percussion, his sets awaken earthy serpent energy and invite full-body presence. Having played across Europe, India, and Australia’s biggest festivals including Earthcore, Rainbow Serpent, and Esoteric, Kundalini Project is a standout in the conscious music scene.
He’s also the founder of Sacred Vision Records and The Magic Garden Festival, both dedicated to uplifting, sober clubbing experiences rooted in connection and transformation. Get ready to dance, feel, and awaken.
Guest Facilitator: Gloria Skye - @_gloriaskye
At each Energy in Motion event, we're joined by a guest facilitator who brings the magic and medicine of a unique modality to support our journey through the gifts of each chakra.
This month, we welcome Gloria Skye, who will guide us in connecting with the energy of oneness and the cosmos through a celestial experience.
Gloria is a meditation teacher, evolutionary astrologer, and spirit-led creative who curates playful and transformative self-awareness experiences through energy, breath, and intention.
Celestial Flow is a guided breathwork and meditation practice designed to align your energy with the rhythms of the cosmos. This journey invites you to connect with the principle of as above, so below, harnessing the transformative power of planetary energy.

Personal responsibility: Please make an assessment on whether you are feeling stable and resourced enough to explore the practices on offer in this event.
Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothes to enable deep breathing and sitting/laying upon the floor with ease. A journal and an eye mask is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).
No Photo/Video Content Will Be Captured: We recognise that being at an event where content is being captured can impact the personal comfort and nervous system regulation of our community. As such, it should be known upfront that this event is a photo and video free space. No content will be captured. We ask all participants to honor this agreement in respect of the shared experience by placing any recording devices away on arrival.
Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.

Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).
Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.
