“Healing old hurts can only begin when the children we once were feel safe enough to speak their hearts to the adults we are now.” – L.R. Knost
Your inner child has a message for you:
"I'm still here."
"I'm still hurting."
"I still need to heal."
"I am worthy of love and acceptance."
Some of the pain we experience in our younger years - physical, emotional, or mental can linger and manifest into our adult lives. For some of us who were neglected or rejected, we learned to numb and disconnect from our emotions in order to survive what otherwise felt like unbearable pain. Some of us may repress feelings of anger or grief, and our inner child can be left holding those difficult emotions. Much of our repressed feelings can stem from what happened to us in the past, hidden from our consciousness.
By working towards healing your inner child, we can begin to break this pattern.
About the experience:
In this workshop, it's all about the inner child: reconnecting with them, tending to them, and reminding them to find the magic and beauty in the world. Your childhood can directly impact the way you act, feel and cope with many situations as an adult. Connecting with your younger self may allow you to discover peace from within and heal a side of you that you never knew existed, work on your shadow side, learn to release what no longer serves you, and begin to step back into your own power.
When you recognize your worth, you can begin to treat yourself with kindness, compassion, respect, and acceptance. This helps build a positive relationship with yourself, which may increase self-esteem, confidence, and change the way you carry yourself and the relationships you have with others. If you struggle with fear of abandonment, people pleasing, critical self-talk, feelings of powerlessness, or personal isolation we have an invitation for you. During this deep healing workshop, we will explore:
what the inner child is and how it connects to our adult selves
learn some tools for self expression, exploring, and connecting your inner child
ways to ground yourself in the process
receive healing Reiki energy that aims to soothe and balance the energy within our bodies
begin to understand the root of our pain and why we may be suffering
About your facilitator: Trang Pham-Nguyen - @thehappyhealingshop
Trang is a certified Reiki Master and healer, based in Los Angeles. She builds community by facilitating deep and thoughtful discussions & healing workshops. After traveling to 40+ countries, Trang saw one thing in common: How people experienced joy, sadness, their struggles & hardships, along with beauty, and hope for a better day. How healing it was for people from all walks of life, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds to reveal their untold stories and their deep experiences . A common thread, weaves through each and everyone of us, through our experiences. Inspired by all this, it allowed her to see how it is possible in healing others, connecting people, and making the world feel less of a lonely place. Through eye-opening and learning experiences of sharing stories, Trang invites you to be empowered to tell yours.

Notice of Photography: Upon arrival, please notify the facilitator if you do not wish to be photographed during the event. The facilitator may be taking photos to use for marketing of future events.
Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:15pm - 6:30pm. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 6:45pm. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.
Driving: Know Centre of You is on Chapel St and ample time to find a car spot is best to be factored into your plans. Park direct on Chapel St (spots unmetered after 5pm) or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You (unmetered after 4pm).
Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).
Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.
