Ritual of Return - Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga & Sound Healing.

Join Sarah Machado and Romy Paltoglou for a deeply restorative experience to connect you back to your body, mind and spirit. Ritual of Return combines the benefits of yoga with the healing power of sound allowing you to surrender into self-presence, quieten your mind, connect deep within, returning you back home.

What to expect:

You begin your journey reconnecting back to your body, guided by Sarah through a gentle Yin Yoga practice accompanied by Romy’s calming live soundscape. You then transition into a guided Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) to help your mind, body, and heart find space to rest, release, reset, and remember.

Often referred to as the sleep with awareness, this ancient practice effortlessly takes us to the space between waking and sleeping; a space where our entire system gets back to homeostasis and where we get to remember who we truly are.

Following the guided yoga nidra you will have the opportunity to journey deeper within, held by soothing sound. You will be led through a gentle soundscape relating to frequencies of the human body and nature. The instruments offered create clean, resonant tones offering you the opportunity to connect back to yourself, your heartspace, your essence, your harmony. The sound is presented in a therapeutic way designed to support your nervous system. You will be gently awakened with the sweet sounds of birds, accompanied by earth and koshi chimes.

All mats, props, blankets are provided but feel free to bring a pillow for your head and light piece of clothing to cover the eyes or anything else that will bring you comfort.

About your facilitators:

Sarah @sarahmachadoyoga

Sarah is an experienced yoga student and teacher facilitating slow flow, yin, pranayama (yogic breath) and yoga nidra classes around Melbourne. Sarah has been focussing on guiding and practicing Yoga Nidra for a few years, after falling in love with it during her first training with her teacher, Rod Stryker. She is also sharing the science and the magic of this practice with other teachers, healers and seekers.

With a deep focus on breath, energy and contemplations, Sarah loves using Yin (gentle shapes to stimulate the rest and digest system) as a gateway to create the best conditions possible to rest in yoga nidra. Both can be practiced with the support of lots of props to create effortless relaxation. And it's available to everyone, no matter the age and experience.

Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 9:45am - 10:00am. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 10:15am. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time.

Driving: Centre of You is located upon Chapel Street and while you may get lucky with an untimed spot, particularly on a Sunday (try High Street) predominantly 1 and 2 hour parking is available (unmetered from 5pm). So you can fully settle into the practice, we suggest you avoid the need to move your car or risk a fine and park at the CARe multilevel carpark (8-14 King Street Prahran), a 140-metre walk from COY. 3 hours parking will be charged at $6.90.

Public transport - tram: Both the number 6 tram & 78 tram stop on the corner of High St/Chapel St. This is stop 31 on the number 6 tram (Moreland/Glen Iris) & stop 45 on the number 78 tram (North Richmond/Balaclava).

Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.

Finding Centre of You: Centre of You is nestled within the arcade that Chapel St Bazaar is in (217 Chapel St). It is up a flight of stairs with a wide landing at the half-way-point. Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair accessible lift. If you could use support in getting up the stairs or would like to discuss ways to make your experience at Centre of You more comfortable, please reach out via grace@centreofyou.com.au or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.
