About the experience:
Join a one of a kind multi-string slide off with Byron Bay Crystal Slider Shivam Rath and Calcatta based Indian Slide virtuoso Rhitom Sarkar on his first ever Australian tour. Witness their first live musical encounter between the two instrumentalists as they converse on the spot an unrehearsed musical duo based on the ancient language of Raga & Tala with supporting Tabla sounds binding the rhythm between them.
What to expect:
You may be transported through a deep meditative space and taken on a journey from the subtle to an explosive crescendo of sounds and magic musical frequencies that transcends all matters of mind. The nature of this highly improvised classical system is like a channel of energy that imbues the musicians and audience alike creating a powerful conduit to invoke the essence of the Raga that is shared and creates a highly charged atmosphere that uplifts and inspires.
With special guest and local talent Kamilindo opening the night and space with a gentle heart opening sound healing, the program will follow with Shivam Rath guiding a small intention setting activity and presenting some Indian Classical Music philosophy and devotional singing with his 22 string Indian Slide Guitar, loop station and a taste of his latest project Mantra Hop.
This will be Followed by International Guest Rhitom Sarkar’s spell binding solo performance.
To conclude the musical ceremony we will offer a final collaboration of Shivam and Rhitom performing a full Indian classical set together with the sounds of Tabla.
