Skin Care with Lindy

Hormones and their impact on our skin often goes undiscussed. As we move through life, hormonal changes are inevitable, first during our teenage years and then during midlife with perimenopause and menopause.
Choosing how to journey through this phase is deeply personal. When presented with information, it can be empowering to make our own decisions, particularly when navigating skin health, skincare and skin treatments.
In this workshop, we take the time to understand common skin concerns, such as itchy skin, rosacea, dry skin, adult acne, and barrier-impaired skin. The less common skin concerns are rarely spoken about and effective strategies to address these concerns and how to nourish our skin, body and health confidently.

Vagal Nerve Support and Restorative Yoga with Donna

Vagal Nerve Support:

We’ll go through a few exercises that will assist in the downregulating of the nervous system. The technique is to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes relaxation and recovery. We can also use practices such as deep breathing, meditation, and restorative yoga. These methods help to lower stress hormones, reduce heart rate, and create a state of calm - which is particularly beneficial for managing symptoms associated with peri and menopause.

Restorative Yoga and why you need it now more than ever:

An experience of letting go, and the support Restorative yoga can offer women who are experiencing symptoms of perimenopause and menopause is to promote relaxation, stress reduction, and assisting with quality of sleep.

It supports hormonal balance and can enhance overall well-being through the gentle, supportive postures that calm the nervous system. It’s not about stretching, it’s about opening and softening it’s not about ‘doing’ at all. When we physically support the body, the receiver cannot help but let go and feel the experience of being held. The long, calming poses invites the body to let go, the heart rate to slow, and the breath deepens. Receiving the poses offer you to have your own experience, leaving you feeling nurtured and loved. This practice involves being held in longer poses while being completely supported by props such as blankets, bolsters, and blocks.
