Gathering around the fire to listen with complete presence to wisdom from our ancestors and being heard in the sharing of our own story, song, music and poetry has long been a meaningful connective tradition. It is around the warmth of the uniting flame and flying embers that we have made ourselves available for generations past and will do so for generations to come, deepening our connection to ourselves, to each other and to the land.
Wisdom Weavers is a night of honouring the sacredness of this ancient tradition and honouring wisdom transmuted into channelled expression through our art, whatever that may be. Our wisdom is not ours to hold but rather a gift to be shared for the continued evolution of all.
The depth of the stories shared through our ancestors and our own lived experiences live within us as wisdom and through some of us, becomes channelled through our expression and our art.
What to expect:
Important: *Bring a candle to contribute to our circle’s centre.*
Upon arrival, settle in and get cosy by building your nest. Use all the blankets, bolsters and cushions you need and desire. Sit solo or cuddle up with a small crew.
We will open by dropping in with ceremonial cacao. With the aid of the spirit of cacao, we will call upon our ancestors whose existence enabled our own alongside igniting the fire of our inner spirit. We give grace and gratitude to our lived experiences, the joys through to the challenges, and honour the stories that these experiences have facilitated us in creating. It is this, our wisdom, that we as ancestors to our children and our children’s children, will be remembered by.
Each one of us at our centre is a keeper of wisdom and wisdom is most impactful when shared. As such, you are invited to participate in this gathering as a receiver of tales told by candlelight, or you may have a desire to share. The brief for contributions of song, story, poetry, performance and/or art is that your share has been inspired by something you’ve learned from your bloodline, something you’ve grown from by virtue of your experiences lived to date or something that has defined your character.
If you do wish to contribute a sharing, please be in contact with us with how much time you will require so we can plan the delivery of the evening.
There will be a scheduled stretch and snack break half-way through our time together.
Things to bring and note:
Wear warm, comfortable clothing and snacks to contribute to the scheduled snack break. And don’t forget your candle!
