Indian Music Therapy Planetary Chants and Mantras Workshop.

Centre of You is pleased to be hosting Dr.Hari Haran, internationally renowned kirtan & meditation specialist, mantra expert & sound healer during his Australian visit from India.

About Indian Music Therapy:

Indian Music Therapy is one of the ancient forms of curative support for ailments in the Indian medicinal system. Its southern Indian origins span back to the 7th century.

Hearing is physical and listening is psychological. Both are vital to our communication skills, relating with others and learning. Out of the 12 cranial nerves, 10 are linked to the ear, indicating the importance of sound frequencies to our nervous system. This link influences and impacts our brain function, energy levels and stress responses.

We are confronted with pollution (stress, strain, anxiety, depressive state of mind, restlessness) within multiple life spheres – be at home , school and/or work place. The response of the ear, brain and nervous system is to shut down in varying degrees pulling our energy away from vitality. Musical healing treats the cause of listening imbalances by stimulating and restoring the ear and brain function to its natural state of balance.

What to expect:

This workshop will commence with evidence-based theory learning about the non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical modality of music therapy before moving into exploring the healing powers of Indian Music Therapy and mantras. These teachings are interwoven with learning the mantras and chants of associated governing planets and their influences.

There are nine planets that are worked with in Indian Music Therapy. The sacred chants and planetary mantras related to the Moon, Sun, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto will be taught. Each of these planets corresponds to relieving various associated ailments. i.e. Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Depression, Stress, Anxiety, Memory, Vision, Arthritis, Pain, Weight, Cancer, etc.

Best practice on body postures to most effectively listen to and absorb the mantras and music will be shared alongside information on which particular days to listen to which particular chants associated with which particular planets.

The workshop will conclude with a Q&A
