WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is the universal life force energy that exists in all things, it is the essence of unconditional love focused and directed by the Reiki practitioner in a therapeutic session. Reiki energy is gentle, soothing and harmonizing to the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. It can create a sense of balance, relaxation and peace in those receiving it, and it can support the process of personal growth, transformation, and maintenance of optimal health and healing. A Reiki practitioner is someone attuned, by a Reiki Master, to this energy source and to the lineage of Reiki healers who exist across time and space (past, present, future). As a Reiki Level 1 student, you will be initiated into the lineage so that you can connect to and access the energy of Reiki and its gentle vibrations with ease, clarity, and spiritual support.
Reiki Tradition
The word Reiki is a Japanese word that translates to; Rei - Spirit, Soul, Universal Ki - Energy
Reiki, as the practice we know today originated in Japan with Dr Mikao Usui, who trained Dr Hayashi, before his passingin the early 1900’s. It was Dr Hayashi’s student, Madame Takate, who is responsible for its introduction to the West. Madame Takate brought the practice of Reiki to HawaiI in the 1930s, when she opened a school and clinic. Since then, Reiki has been a popular form of spiritual and energetic system of healing worldwide. The Reiki practice has traditionally been passed down from teacher to student through sacred attunements that remain with the student for life.
What Happens In Reiki Level 1?
At the completion of this weekend of training, you will receive your Reiki I certificate from Reiki Master Dorothea Lucaci who trained at Maha Rose Center for Healing in Brooklyn NYC. You will receive the traditional training passed down from the Dr Usui lineage, and learn to channel and practice hands-on healing, learning the hand placements passed down from teacher to student along this tradition. We will discuss the energy systems associated with the traditional lineage, and other eastern and western models which we can use to enhance our practice.
You will also learn how to use alternative positions with intuitive guidance, through one on one practice with other students. Receiving the sacred attunements and connecting to the Reiki Lineage, will help cultivate your intuition, and guide your own healing and personal growth journey. Reiki is not associated with any religion, creed or faith, and can be incorporated with other practices. It weaves seamlessly into other modalities to support clients in healing sessions. From this training, you will be ready to start practicing Reiki on yourself, your friends, pets, plants and family. However, in Australia, it is required that you have Reiki Level 2 training to begin practicing professionally.
The Three Levels Of Reiki
Reiki 1: Receive the attunement to practice hands on Reiki on yourself, friends and family
Reiki 2: Receive the symbols that will help you practice distance Reiki and use Reiki across time and space (past, present, future)
Reiki 3: Reiki Master, you receive a final symbol that allows you to attune other students and pass on the lineage. Reiki Master is for those called to Teach.
What To Expect:
There will be two tea breaks per day with gluten free and vegan refreshments (A one hour lunch break - lunch not included)

Master the traditional hand placements & learn by practicing in partners and groups
The practice of intuitive hand placements, learning how to treat yourself, children, plants, and objects etc
Learn how to use energy systems to enhance your practice, traditional and from other regions
Learn ethical practices and how to work with clients professionally
Receive the Reiki 1 attunements & a Reiki I certificate

About Your Teacher:
Dorothea Lucaci is an intuitive healing artist, astrologer and musician. Along her educational journey, and search for personal enlightenment, she became a Reiki Master, Advanced Theta Healing Practitioner, Astrologer, and Sound Therapist. Dorothea also holds a Bachelor of Social Science and Psychology and has studied complementary modalities such as Past Life Regression, Integrative Hypnosis, Life Coaching, the Akashic Records, Access Bars, and other Energy Medicine techniques.
Dorothea has spent the past 7 years studying sound and music extensively with various teachers from different traditions across NYC, Melbourne and around the world. She offers Sound, Mantra, Chants, Meditation, and Past Life Regression events, training workshops in alternative healing, as well as bespoke private healing sessions using her vast expertise.

Things To Note:
Centre of You is on Chapel Street, so ample time to find a car spot is best factored into your plans. While plenty of free 1-2hr spots exist surrounding Centre of You, for immersive day-long offerings we recommend jumping into nearby paid parking. The closest is in King St Prahran, $2.90 per hour, maxing out at $12.50 once 4+ hours is reached. Alternatively Prahran Square Car Park (the Coles/Woolies underground) accessible via Izett St is $1.60 per hour, maxing out at $14.40 once 6+ hours is reached. For earlybird, enter before 10am, exit after 3pm for a $10.30 flat rate.
